Ways to Get Involved​

1. Technical Guidance & Thought Leadership​

Help shape ideas and contribute to shared knowledge across the industry.

You can:

  • Propose technical topics, standards, or areas to explore
  • Write or co-author articles and blogs (via FINOS or external channels)
  • Share drafts, ideas, or perspectives for peer input
  • Lead or join knowledge-sharing sessions
  • Suggest external publication opportunities

2. Practical Advice & Outreach to Community Organisations​

Support real-world impact through engineering expertise — both within FINOS and in the wider community.

You can:

  • Share practical insights from your day-to-day experience
  • Suggest outreach opportunities or charities to partner with
  • Contribute examples of impactful technical volunteering
  • Help create toolkits, checklists, or guidance for community use
  • Participate in Q&A sessions, clinics, or advisory formats

3. Mentoring & Elevate Programme​

Support more inclusive and representative engineering leadership.

You can:

  • Volunteer as a mentor or mentee
  • Share mentoring approaches that work in your organisation
  • Propose formats (buddying, reverse mentoring, fireside chats)
  • Suggest matching approaches for mentors/mentees
  • Help develop a shared mentoring toolkit or playbook
